Janet learned the basic rules of plain-language writing from people with cognitive impairments; they told her exactly what was wrong with her writing and helped her find better ways to create accessible print materials. Since then, she has continued to focus on the needs of low-literacy readers. She has conducted workshops across Alberta and presented at conferences, both national and international. She now enjoys near-retirement in sunny Saskatchewan.
