
Deborah S. Bosley, PhD, Principal in the Plain Language Group, knows that good writing is good business and good government. For 20 years, she has helped corporations, government agencies, and non-profits create documents that are easy to read, understand, and use. She has worked primarily in the financial and health sectors. Having given more than 100 presentations in the United States, Mexico, and Europe, she is the author of 3 books and many articles on clear communication issues. Dr. Bosley won two national awards for her scholarly articles and her work with financial institutions. She was a panelist on Get Noticed: Writing Effective Financial Privacy Notices sponsored by the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities Exchange Commission and serves on the boards of the Center for Plain Language, the Shareholder’s Communications’ Forum, and the Association for Professional Communications Consultants. In 2009, she was interviewed about plain language in credit card statements for the Wall Street Journal This Weekend radio broadcast; and by Investment News, the Omaha Herald, and the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
